Decollete Rejuvenation

The chest and décolleté are one of the first places to reveal signs of aging. The skin in this area is actually thinner and weaker, and most of us forget about our décolletage in our daily skin care regime.
Here at Transform Medspa we offer a combination of innovative treatments to restore your delicate skin to a more youthful appearance.

As we age, the chest and décolleté lose its smooth texture and youthful glow due to sun exposure, loss of elasticity in the skin, and the effects of gravity. Sagging skin, etched lines, wrinkles, brown spots and redness on the chest can make you look older than you are. Chest and Décolleté Rejuvenation can provide dramatic results that enhance your overall appearance and will correct;
  • Pigmentation / sun damage
  • Redness sun damage
  • Aging of chest skin / décolletage wrinkles

PROTECTION and PREVENTION
Recommended treatments
  • Skincare/Sunscreen
Years of sun exposure can cause the skin on the chest and décolleté to show irregular patches of discoloration (mottled red, brown, and white) and have a more rough wrinkled texture.
Ultraviolet light exposure induces pigment cells, called “melanocytes”, to make more of the pigment molecule called “melanin”. That is why we get blotchy brown spots in the delicate neck, chest, and décolleté areas. In addition, ultraviolet light causes the growth of thousands of new tiny blood vessels or spider veins–causing the area to be not only brown, but also red. Furthermore, the collagen fibers become distorted by chronic sun exposure, leading to the rough skin texture. Using sunscreen on a daily basis can help minimize this future damage.

AGE SPOTS and SUN SPOTS
Recommended treatments
  •  Hydrafacial MD
  • Chemical Peels
  • PhotoFacial-BBL
  • Laser Resurfacing
Hydrafacial MD and Chemical Peels
When deciding which treatment to use on the skin of the chest, it important to first diagnose what is the main issue. By far the biggest and most noticeable issue that we see on the chest is pigmentation (freckling and sun damage). In this case, Hydrafacial treatment for mild discoloration can be used, and Chemical Peels for deeper more moderate pigment and sun damage should be used first to treat this. After 4-6 treatments, when appropriate management has been selected, you will experience more youthful skin as these treatments will lift the pigmentation and sun damage away!
Hydrafacial is safe and effective to use on the chest and décolleté to improve mild pigmentation changes and soft textural changes. A series of treatments can smooth the texture of this skin–making it look more youthful.   Light to Medium depth Chemical Peels as well can smooth the texture and even out the sun damage discoloration. Hydrafacial and Chemical Peels can be done independently, on alternating weeks, or on the same day to achieve deeper results.

PhotoFacial-IPL/BBL
PhotoFacial – IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Rejuvenation is the non-invasive GOLD STANDARD treatment designed to target certain skin conditions, including pigmentation, sun damaged skin, broken capillaries, and redness. Photo-aging and sun damage skin displays fine wrinkling, freckling or irregular pigmentation from chronic sun exposure and IPL is an excellent option for treatment as it can visibly improve your skin after a series of IPL sessions. Our patients are very pleased with their results!
It’s important to treat the neck and chest together so everything blends and matches as well as it can. It is also essential before and after the Photo/IPL treatment to use a high SPF broad spectrum sunscreen in those and other sun-exposed areas to protect from further damage.  Always remember to do whatever you do on the face on the neck and chest as well (i.e. treatments, sunscreen, creams, moisturizer, etc).  A series of IPL treatments gently tones down these multi-colored patches on the chest and décolleté, but for some, depending on the severity of the mismatch, you may need skin lightening creams or laser treatments to fade additional sun damage and pigmentation.

Profractional Laser Resurfacing
Laser Resurfacing on the chest and décolleté is performed with fractional laser treatments. Fractional laser is different from full field resurfacing. Full field resurfacing removes the whole surface area of the treatment site (which is dangerous to do on the chest), while fractional lasers ablates narrow channels into the skin covering only a fraction of the surface area of the treatment site. This action activates the body’s wound healing mechanisms, but leaves the surrounding skin intact, so that rapid healing is possible. As a result, fractional lasers are most useful for someone who has an aging chest, where the chest skin looks wrinkly, crepey, damaged and old.
The Profractional/PRF laser treatment is very beneficial for the chest and décolleté, as a quick and comfortable laser treatment with little downtime. Profractional laser is most similar to the laser platform called the Fraxel laser device that has become a standard of minimal downtime laser skin resurfacing.  The newer Profractional technology has several advantages that set it apart from the previous Fraxel technology. Unlike the 6 to 8 passes required with Fraxel, the PRF requires only one pass which can increase the level of patient comfort compared to earlier laser technologies. As well, the very advanced treatment scanner, allows Dr. Atluri to choose from more than 600 combinations of shape, size and density for optimal treatment results!

Hand Rejuvenation

One of the places people really show their age is their hand. We are so focused on a youthful face with anti-aging treatments, that we forget about our hands. Help is here.

Do Your Hands Give Away Your Age?

As we age, our hands lose firmness and plumpness and begin to look bony and frail, with veins and joints showing more prominently. Brown spots and sun exposure take their toll as well. Combating our aging hands takes more than a good hand cream. The latest technology and rejuvenation treatments give us the tools to aid our aging hands.

Restore More Youthful Hands with Radiesse

Radiesse injections immediately re-plump and replenish volume to the back of the hands to provide a supple, and youthful appearance instantly. By placing Radiesse beneath the skin, it raises the skin level so that tendons, veins and joints are not very prominent. Radiesse provides instant and long lasting results.
Because Radiesse provides scaffolding for collagen building, the body’s own collagen interweaves into this structure and helps keep the skin feeling natural and smooth.

How Radiesse Works

Radiesse has proven to be a very versatile facial contouring product and has demonstrated durable augmentation in areas such as chin and cheek where a larger volume is required. It maintains a soft, natural feel and takes on the characteristics of the surrounding skin tissue.
Results typically last 1 – 2 years. Radiesse does not require allergy testing. Radiesse is a safe, effective and non-surgical treatment, which provides immediate smoothing of wrinkles, scars and the replenishment of volume loss.

BBL/ Photo treatment to Minimize Age Spots and Hyper-Pigmentation

f your hands have age spots, sunspots, liver spots also known as hyper-pigmentation, BBL or photo treatments can help break up the pigmentation so the body can eliminate it.
For the future, use sunscreen on your hands regularly to protect against future sun damage.
Note: Persistent use of sunscreen is necessary, no matter what cosmetic procedure you choose.

The Hand Rejuvenation Process

Volume Replenishment – Get instant results with Radiesse which will last many months. Typically 1 syringe of Radiesse is needed per hand to attain a full smooth replacement of volume to the back of the hands. In some instances, one more syringe may be necessary if your hands have lost substantial amounts of their natural fat and volume. Men may require up to 2 syringes per hand if their hands are large.
Brown Spot Removal – With BBL treatments, we can diminish the brown spots, sunspots and hyperpigmentation that age the hands.

With our hand rejuvenation treatment, your hands will be well on their way to looking younger. Call 513 793 6100 to book your appointment!

Skincare tips  to look your best in your 40’s

Hopefully all of you are done with pregnancy, diaper days and potty training! Kids are in school and life is a steady routine. Time to take care of your skin. The best investing you can ever make for your future years. The best skin of your life may well be ahead of you!

Our recommendations from Transform Medspa Cincinnati

What you can do - BY YOU

Embrace retinoids
These vitamin A derivatives boost collagen production (which softens fine lines and minimizes pores). Retinoids rev up sluggish cell turnover, so skin becomes smoother and more radiant, and dark spots fade. Prescription version Retin-A is stronger and yields noticeable changes after about eight weeks.  Retinol, the strongest over-the-counter option, takes 12 weeks. Choose a product formulated with up to 1 percent retinol, the highest amount available OTC, depending on your skin’s tolerance. Apply it every other night for the next two weeks, ramping up to nightly application

Exfoliate regularly
Once you’ve built up to a nightly retinoid application, boost its benefits by substituting in an alpha-hydroxy acid twice a week. Both ingredients exfoliate, leaving skin brighter and smoother.  Because they stimulate cell renewal in different ways, you’ll get maximum improvement using both. If skin is dry, choose an AHA formulated with moisturizing lactic acid.

Consider Hydroquinone.
This agent, which inhibits the production of melanin, is one of the most effective ways to fade blotchiness. OTC creams contain 2 percent HQ, which lightens subtle discoloration over several months. Prescription versions boast 4 percent, and daily spot treatment can diminish dark patches in six to eight weeks. Keep in mind though; that a single afternoon spent unprotected in the sun can undo all that hard work. Use HQ only for three months. After that, maintain results with a skin lightener that contains kojic acid or licorice extract.

What we can do - FOR YOU

Reduce brown spots
A series of photo facials (BBL) using painless light energy penetrating to various depths of the skin reduces brown spots, sun damage, redness, and broken capillaries and improves color and tone of skin. Regular light treatments have been proven to slow down skin aging.
It is pain free with no downtime. You may look a little pink for an hour after treatment. Four to six monthly sessions at about $350 each should be enough to even out your complexion; a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months keeps up the results.

Restore your glow
Hydrafacials, which involves exfoliation of skin, hydration of skin and infusion of anti-oxidants and growth factors, helps skin glow and stimulate collagen production, helping with fine lines and wrinkles. LED treatment can be combined to enhance results.
A series 3-4 treatments 1 month apart and maintenance treatments twice a year at $150 per treatment is recommended.

Erase lines
Wrinkle relaxers like BOTOX and DYSPORT are the surest way to smooth creases you’re already noticing and prevent more. It temporarily relaxes facial muscles so they can’t move and create wrinkles. BOTOX retrains your muscles, so the effects last longer and longer. Some patients who start when they’re 45 are coming in only twice a year by the time they’re 50. Each treatment costs approximately $400, and results last about 4 months.
